TIPS TO ACHIEVE THE PERFECT TAN

Achieving the perfect tan can be tricky but with the right technique, you can tan stress-free!

TIP #1: Prep the skin 24 hours before tanning

There is no doubt that your tan is only as good as your canvas! The secret to achieving the perfect base is to exfoliate, shave and moisturise the day prior to tanning.

Exfoliating helps to remove any flaky, dead skin to reveal a fresh layer of soft, silky skin. Exfoliating with a mitt is the traditional way of getting the job done, but if you’re looking for a super-fast and easy alternative, we suggest trying VANI-T’s Tan Eraser Mousse! Not only does this product remove your old tan in minutes but also has amazing exfoliating properties. 

TIP #2: Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!

In the lead up to tanning, make sure you’re keeping up with your skincare regime!

There are a few areas of the body that tend to dry out faster and need a little extra TLC. Apply a moisturiser to your hands, elbows, knees, ankles and feet. The self-tanning agent in most tans tends to cling to the drier areas of the body, absorbing it at a faster rate. This step promotes an even tan and encourages a smooth fade.

TIP #3: Create your ideal glow

Sun kissed: 1 hour 

Medium: 2-4 hours  

Dark: 4-6 hours 

Ultra-dark: 8 hours 

After applying your tan, we recommend wearing dark, loose-fitting clothing. Not only will it protect your tan while it develops but also prevents any elastics from rubbing into your skin. Dark clothing will hide the transfer of bronzer, so you can leave your tan on for hours without a worry! Simply rinse the tan using warm water, then pat dry.

Tip #4: Extend the life of your tan with one product…
