ESSENTIALS YOU SHOULD HAVE IN YOUR MAKEUP BAG

Posted by Alyce Gill on

Primer

TRY: Vani-T Face Base

A primer is an important essential you should have in your makeup bag – it prepares your skin before applying makeup.  A good primer helps your makeup last longer, while giving a smooth oil-free finish. If you have large pores a primer can aid in reducing the appearance of them. For people with acne prone skin, primer also acts as a barrier between makeup and skin, which reduces the chances of clogging your pores.

Foundation: Liquid & Powder

LIQUID

TRY: Vani-T Mineral Liquid Foundation

Liquid foundation gives skin a dewy, glowing finish and good coverage. People with older skin tend to like powder foundation as it can give good coverage on wrinkles and lines – making them less noticeable.

Suggested skin types for powder foundation: Normal and dry skin.

POWDER

TRY: Vani-T Mineral Powder Foundation

A powder foundation gives great coverage and is an effective on-the-go bathroom touch up essential. For some people, a powder feels lighter on the skin and does not have a heavy feel to it. It is especially beneficial for people with acne prone skin who do not want to clog their pores.

Suggested skin types for powder foundation: Normal, combination, sensitive, acne prone and oily skin.

Bronzer

TRY: Vani-T Bronze Boheme Mineral Bronzer

A bronzer is the perfect finishing touch to a makeup look that can make the cheek bones pronounced and defined while leaving a bronzed glow, highlighting your facial features. It gives your face a tanned, warm radiance and is a year round product that can be used in all seasons. Bronzers can also be used as an eye shadow.

Brushes

TRY: Vani-T Cosmetic Brush Set

Kabuki Brush: A Kabuki brush is best used for applying powder/mineral makeup as it helps give an even coverage.

Foundation Brush: A foundation brush is best used for applying liquid foundation. It is easiest to use by placing a small amount of the foundation on the back of your hand and then picking it up with the brush. Begin by applying in the center of your face and blend outwards towards your hairline.

Contour Brush: Best used for applying blush, bronzer and highlighter on your face. Useful when contouring your cheeks, jawline and nose.

Eye shadow Brushes: The perfect brushes for applying eye shadow – small sized brushes to fit in the creases and small areas of your eyelids. There are a few different types of eye shadow brushes including all round eye shadow brushes, blending brushes and smudge brushes.
